THE JOB
The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the following duties. This position is for the 2nd shift with a start time of 2 pm. As a Maintenance Supervisor your roles and responsibilities will include:


  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Directly supervises up to 10 employees in the Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Maintenance Supervisor who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal [Job Title] would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:


    • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have supervisory experience. Must be bilingual in Spanish.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge of E-Time Payroll system.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
