Position Title: ChemistLocation: Newberry SpringsReports To: VP of OperationsCompany Description: 5E Boron Americas, LLC (5E BA), formerly known as Fort Cady (California) Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of 5E Advanced Materials, Inc. (5E). 5E BA's corporate office and team is in Hesperia, CA and the project site is in Newberry Springs, CA. 5E BA's Borate Mine hosts a multi-generational Borate resource where boric acid will be produced for the large North American specialty chemicals market including high-end technologies such as electric vehicles, defense, and magnets. The Fort Cady project site is an exceptionally rare and large colemanite deposit.Position Summary: The Chemist will design experiments and execute lab-scale process development for existing and future product development. Evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various inorganic substances and systems to feed commercial process optimization (vapor-equilibrium, solubility, etc..). Support existing operations by overseeing the QA/QC lab and technicians, developing analytical methods, ensuring lab equipment is performing to OEM specifications.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position:

• Oversee the implementation of a process development lab
• Design and perform experimentation for process development for boric acid, lithium carbonate, and boric acid/boric oxide derivatives
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Provide technical support for commercial development and sales of products
• Train and develop QA/QC lab technicians
• Participate in method development, method validation, and certification activities.
• Conduct proficiency testing, routine audits, trouble shooting and continuous process improvements.
• Develop and write technical reports for both internal purposes and for commercial marketing purposesInterpersonal Competencies:

    • PhD in Inorganic Chemistry preferred, but will consider other related degrees in adjacent fields such as Biochemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences etc.)
    • 5 - 7 years relevant experience
    • Substantial knowledge of analytical chemistry and process development
