PrevMed Ctr Health Promotion - (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative-Prev Med
Center Health Promotion is assigned to, and performs
patient-oriented procedures and tasks within the scope of their
education and training and under the supervision of a physician or
licensed staff person. Obtains vital signs; appropriately prepares
patient for physical exam, including test results and appropriate
consent forms; assists patient and/or family as necessary;
completes required charting and documentation. Performs other
duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of a Medical
Assistant program or current national MA certification required.
Minimum one year clinical experience preferred. Medical Assistant
Certification required. Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in
accredited nursing program will be considered in lieu of MA
certification requirements. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification required within ninety days of hire.
Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in accredited nursing program
will be considered in lieu of MA educational requirements.
Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to use a computer, printer, and
software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate and troubleshoot basic office
equipment required for the position. Able to work calmly and
respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept
direction. Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments
effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under
pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay
close attention to detail; work independently with minimal
supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear
sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the
telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated
with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and
written documents necessary to the position.
