Job Description:
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Pediatric
Surgery, is seeking an additional BE/BC Pediatric Surgeon,
preferably with credentials in Critical Care.-- This individual
would be joining a diverse group of four other surgeons in a busy
academic practice based at Loma Linda University Children's
Hospital.-- LLUCH is a 380-bed full service facility that provides
both pediatric and maternity services, and supports an 84-bed
Level-4 NICU, a 25-bed PICU, and newly constructed, state of the
art acute care tower and new emergency department.-- There are
approximately 4.6 million people with 1.3 million children in our
referral base, which covers one fourth of the state of
California.--
The educational mission of the division includes training an ACGME
accredited Pediatric Surgery Fellow, as well as supporting a
Pediatric Surgical Research fellow.-- The division is also
responsible for providing the primary pediatric surgical experience
for General Surgery residents from multiple programs in the area,
as well as serving as a core teaching site for medical students.--
The division is in the process of applying for a pediatric focused
surgical critical care fellowship.
The division has a diverse research effort including a basic
science lab focused on the pathogenesis and treatment of NEC,
health outcomes research utilizing both institutional and national
validated databases, as well as multi-institutional collaborative
projects.
Of note is that the division has been leading the ACS NSQIP project
here at LLUCH for the last several years, and there are plans for
ACS Children's Surgery Verification in the near future.
LLUCH is a Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center, however the adult
trauma surgeons from the adjacent facility are the designated first
responders for the highest level trauma activations, allowing home
call for the pediatric surgery faculty.

Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation
only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty
rank: $425,000 - $525,000. This amount does not include variable
compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual
department compensation plans. More information on compensation is
discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
