Shared Services: Philanthropy Patient Engagement (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Manager - Major Gifts (Clinical) manages and oversees a team of development professionals who raise funds on behalf of the institution's hospitals, School of Medicine and LLUFMG clinical departments. Personally manages a portfolio of alumni, resident alumni and grateful patient donors, which will require personal travel. Serves as the philanthropic liaison for the School of Medicine's Dean and Dean Emeritus in coordination of fundraising efforts, planning and strategy. Coordinates and presents educational opportunities in collaboration with the clinical department chairs, group administrators and hospital leadership for the Healing Hands Grateful Patient Program. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Philanthropy and Patient Engagement Services, Major Gifts Manager (Education) and other Advancement teams to establish the most effective ways in which the clinical and academic fundraisers can work strategically and collaboratively to increase the overall fundraising efforts for the institution. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation for Patient Engagement Services. Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or Communications required. Minimum five years relevant experience in major gift fundraising, marketing, public relations, business or related field required. Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) required within three years of hire date.

Able to initiate, develop and maintain long-term relationships with donors and prospects. Able to listen and understand key aspects of a donor or prospective donor conversation to identify needs and find solutions that satisfy donor passions and institutional needs. Must possess the ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, rules and laws; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
