Dialysis Core (Part-time, Evening Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Clinical Informatics Specialist serves in an infrastructure role across the organization and supports all clinical disciplines with the development and implementation of the integrated electronic medical record. Provides leadership for design team and subgroups in the design of paper and electronic documentation to ensure multidisciplinary approach to care coordination; assists the departments with go-live support and point of care education; gathers comparative documentation data of pre and post go-live; prepares and analyzes statistical reports and presents data to designated management and educator groups; researches best practices and facilitates implementation in collaboration with the Clinical Educators, Staff Development Educators, and ancillary Department Educators. Maintains in-depth clinical knowledge of the organization-wide electronic medical record (EMR) system. Demonstrates behaviors which support excellence in customer service, patient safety, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed. Associate`s Degree in nursing and Bachelor`s Degree in healthcare, finance, education, public health, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. In progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports. Minimum four years of experience may be considered in lieu of Master`s Degree. Minimum three years of Nursing experience which has provided opportunity to demonstrate competencies in clinical nursing, computer sciences, administration, education, and/or staff development required. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License. Certification in informatics highly desired upon hire. If not on hire, then must obtain within two years of hire. This new requirement becomes effective May 2011. Incumbents have two years to complete certification. Knowledge of organization-wide core clinical systems and related applications, regulatory standards, healthcare law and finance preferred. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, organization-wide clinical system and niche systems; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to: relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; make public presentations; provide leadership; elicit support from other areas and individuals; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction. Able to: communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently and with minimal supervision; perform math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to: distinguish colors, hear sufficiently for general conversation in person an on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; read documents necessary to position Able to: analyze and interpret data and processes; make flow charts reflecting current and future state processes. Able to: demonstrate basic knowledge of project management; track progress and meet objectives and meet deadlines; demonstrate willingness to continually learn.
