We are expanding our offices in Orange County (Santa Ana) and in the Inland Empire (Ontario), delivering some of the biggest, most exciting projects in the State. Take the next step in your civil engineering career while supporting these important projects that enhance the infrastructure in your communities.This opportunity entails leading the development and execution of the project management plan while building and maintaining effective client relationships. This position serves as the primary client liaison responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of one or more super mega ($25M+) projects, including contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management. The Sr. Project Director implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.What You'll Do:

• Develop and nurture key client relationships and act as the primary company contact on assigned projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
• Manage financial performance on projects, including proactive management of cash, budget, schedule, and project scope to ensure adherence to project goals and completion to the client's satisfaction.
• Set priorities, obtain commitments, and engage required resources through collaboration with Group Directors, Department Managers, and/or Section Managers to staff projects according to the project Work Plan.
• Collaborate with office and division leadership in solving challenges and ensuring business objectives are met.
• Supervise and mentor team members to achieve overall project objectives, overseeing project staffing, including recruitment, hiring, development, retention, and succession of project staff.
• Lead pursuits of super mega projects and partner with Client Service Leaders to develop long-term strategies for additional business opportunities with key clients.
• Work with the pursuit team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials, leading interview and proposal presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience, including 6 years of experience successfully managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects.What We Prefer:
    • Master's degree
    • 25 years of relevant experience
    • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
    • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)Additional InformationVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Locations: Ontario, CAThe approximate pay range for San Diego, Sacramento, and Inland Empire, CA is $272,438.32 - $435,193.69. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
